The Wanderer:
Oscar gasped; watching the small rectangular tumble softly in the air, pages fluttering coarsely in the air as it plummeted down. His hands remained in their shape, softly gripping the air, he felt the cool ice touch of his fingertips scrape his palms. A small smile overcame the pale lips of the boy.
Oscar. Oscar Jay Thorpe. Residential book keeper, of Darem Academy, at only 15, his height limited his capabilities, but certainly didn’t tarnish his passion of literature. He stood still, deep hazel eyes staring at the messy blur of split pages spread carelessly on the mahogany boarded floor. Oscar let a sigh escape his lips before arching his body forward, delicately placing his fingertips around the hardback spine of the book, gracefully lifting it from the floor.
The book measured around 12 inches in height, Oscar’s small body needed to cradle the large bulk in his arms until some form of support would be able to stop his weak knees from collapsing. Oscar tensed, holding the large mass of book in his arms, he softly waddled to the assigned bookshelf, pivoting round to lean his forearm on the empty block of the shelf, quietly let out a groan, soft cheeks growing deep in colour, soft blonde locks falling onto his glasses as the front cover loomed over the shelf. Forcing both arms onto the bottom, he pushed the book into the gap, gently wiping his soft forehead, patting his soft freckles before adjusting his glasses.
Oscar let out a sigh of relief, placing his hand on the cool hardback cover, tracing the large title letters that stood in metallic gold print, he giggled. Lifting up a page, his finger glided against its edge. Sudden pain. Such stinging, throbbing pain; almost felt cool in its effect as the divide between pain and pleasure carefully threw off balance. Oscar’s face grew paler, colder, as the red liquid began oozing from the pin shaped wound; the warm, rusty smell filling his sinuses, his pupils growing in size; eyelids flickering as his head began to spin. Round; round; upside down; and around again.
His knees collapsed, bringing his small body tumbling down to the wooden floor, his limbs heavy and weak. Oscar’s deep eyes opened to a hazy vision of crimson liquid trailing from his nose, light dripping noises growing more and more fuzzy as his consciousness began to fade, listening to his life fluid slowly draining from his body. His throat felt dry, his pulse beating like a heavy drum in his ears, he felt his pulse, slowly falling, fading, into nothing.

Oscar’s deep hazel eyes woke to the deep topaz hues of another male. Oscar’s heart skipped a beat, a soft blush forming on his cheeks. He was beautiful. Tall, and graceful in posture, skilfully styled hair that let out soft flicks in random directions, and deep black eyeliner that defined his Asian origins. Oscar lifted a small hand, stroking his freckles, tapping his nose to the shock of stinging, throbbing pain.
“You fell over.” The boy teased, carefully holding the younger boy’s hand, he placed it gently on the other cold, pale, soft hand that lay across his stomach on the aqua hospital bed.
“Fenyx. Fenyx is my name.” Fenyx gave a gentle smile, a smug look overcoming his gentle features before returning to his seat positioned cautiously next to the bed. Oscar stuttered; who was he?, Why was he here?, How in the world did he get here?
Oscar gave a false smile; he had to at least pretend he was okay, for appearances sake. All he knew now was that this mysterious being, was someone to watch out for...
